This coming Sunday, February 22, celebrate 100 years of Black History Month with the City from 2 - 3:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center!

There’ll be music, spoken word recitations, guest speakers, presentations and more to celebrate the important contributions of African-Americans to our country’s history and throughout the world.

The City is also hosting an essay contest for elementary and middle school students with the theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations” asking students to explore and reflect on what Black history means to them and how it continues to shape our future. You can learn more on the essay contest information page and submissions are due to the Mayor by February 18.

More details for the celebration below and hope to see you there!
